2 year olds listen? really? I have a 2 almost 3 year old and listening is not her strong suit however we do a lot of her full name and stop right this minute when I use her full name she knows I am serious. But if you find something that truly works fill me in cause like you I am at a loss.

Use very short, clear phrases. Kids that age are unable to process long, complicated sentences. So for example, if he's jumping on the couch, don't say, "You get down from that couch, you're going to hurt yourself!" It'll just go right over his head. Instead, you say, "No! No jump couch!" and you frown and physically pick him up off the couch and deposit him on the floor.

It'll take a LOT of repetition, as well. Kids RARELY get the lesson the first time around.
