How Do You Get Your Spouse To Help Around The House?

My husband believes it is the job of the wife and children to maintain the house, both inside and out, because he works. Well, okay, I'm happy to do my part and the children (ages 9, 6 and 5) all have their jobs to do to help out- but seriously?!? I don't mind doing most of the household chores, but I would like for him to help out in a few specific areas (like the laundry, I would just like him to put his own clothes away). Everyone in the house washes their own dishes after meals, except him. I feel like less of a wife & partner, and more like a servant! I should also mention that I also work full time, go to school online full time, and am 6 months pregnant. So- my question is: how do you get your spouse to help out around the house? Without, of course, nagging incessantly and calling him a lazy jerk??

I just ask for help. But my husband doesn't think it is my JOB to keep the house clean. We have 14 month old twins and he helps all the time even when he works full time. He knows that if I didn't do laundry or clean is because I didn't had the chance, not because I was lazy.

Good luck
