First of all, if your 7 year old has ADHD, she would have been showing signs of it her whole life. It doesn't just start at 6 or 7. The only way to diagnose it is to go to a psychologist and have her evaluated. He may do some impulsivity tests, and also have you and her teachers fill out a questionaire. However, be cautious. I think this condition is often over-diagnosed. Kids are naturally noisy and want to run and play instead of sitting at a desk all day. As far as your 1 month old goes, if there is a rash that doesn't go away in a week, I would take her to the doctor.

Nearly ever child shows signs of ADHD at one time or another.
You will see most of the signs across all settings.
Talk with the school if you are concerned about your child and ADHD - make sure the kid is getting enough sleep (11 hrs) and watch the diet ... sugar, dyes, trans fats ... all play a role in behavior
Make sure the child has a LOT of time to run and jump and scream and kick and climb .... limit TV computer time
Heat rash ... keep her cool - light clothing ...

for the heat rash I m not sure what the weather is like where you live but I would start by removing or loosening your baby's clothing and move him or her to a cool, shady spot & for treating it I know that calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream may be used with your health professional's approval.

A child with ADHD who is inattentive will have 6 or more of the following symptoms:
• Has difficulty following instructions
• Has difficulty keeping attention on work or play activities at school and at home
• Loses things needed for activities at school and at home
• Appears not to listen
• Doesn’t pay close attention to details
• Seems disorganized
• Has trouble with tasks that require planning ahead
• Forgets things
• Is easily distracted
The child with ADHD who is hyperactive/impulsive will have at least 6 of the following symptoms:
• Is fidgety
• Runs or climbs inappropriately
• Can’t play quietly
• Blurts out answers
• Interrupts people
• Can’t stay in seat
• Talks too much
• Is always on the go
• Has trouble waiting his or her turn
As for children with ADHD, the distinct behavior disorder is characterized as inattentiveness to external direction, underachievement, impulsive behavior, and restlessness. Hyperactivity is typically taken as an indication, however, children identified as inattentive are often sluggish and hypo-active. If you have any doubts, the better way is to have your child diagnosed by a professional.
As parents, we can also feel relaxed that bad parenting or unstructured family life/school life are not the cause of ADHD. These factors would only make symptoms worse. Usually structured family life and team effort with doctors and teachers will ease the symptoms.
