Like the first post said, keep it as natural as possible if you can, but I had this problem with my now 2 year old son. In the end I had to take him to the doctors and they prescribed me something called Movicol. I tried all the over the counter stuff, Lactoluse, Syrup of fig ect.. and I changed his diet and nothing! I took him to the doctors in the end because he was in agony, and he was only passing 1 solid a week and it was always very bloody. I hope your daughter gets sorted soon as I know how awful it is myself!

my doc told me to treat constipation with food (fiber) and exercise and lots of fluids!!!! someone in my family tried to treat their own constipation with meds and they developed a dependancy on the meds (couldn't poo w/o meds) so try to treat it as naturally as possible. my 4 yr old had it real bad so i used a suppository but it was real real bad pain crying etc. but like i say you can develop dependancies so water and excercise. you can also massage the direction of the colon (clockwise) and with fluids that might help. good luck:)
