How do you UN-spoil a super spoiled 8 year old girl?

My daugher has been challenging since she was a newborn. When she was 6 months old I wanted to try to start having her cry out her middle of the night wake ups so she learned how to sleep through the night. Well "dad" wanted me to get her cuz HE had to get up in the morning and work and she was keeping him up..He also gave into EVERY tear . NOW she cannot handle the word NO and has uncontrollable screaming fits . She needs all the attention everywhere, and her brother is suffering. This house is divided, boys against girls, because her "dad" now cannot handle her behavior, so of course I have to fix it somehow. This is difficult. We are divorced, but living together still for financial reasons, but do not see eye to eye on parenting and I don't know what to do anymore to help her not become a terrible, selfish, spoiled, high- maintenance, demanding teen/adult. HELP ME...(cannot afford counselors right now)

Hi Shannon , I have a 13 almost 14 year old , she was the exact same as my daughter , you love your daughter to bits as i do mine . But you have to take away things she loves like her cellphone her (laptop's if she is on facebook , t.v. Wii's everything she loves it will hurt you so bad she has to be put in her bedroom for the whole day for a few days only aloud downstairs for meals etc, and should not come down when she starts changing ( getting more matuer for her age) you can slowly give her , hher stuff back , I hope this info helps , my daughter was liked that i did this and she appreciates things like aloud to watch her fav show on t.v. after dinner she washes her plates , she appreciates if you gave her a £1 , she has made me so proud as you daughter will when she grows up to be a lovely mature young lady .
