How early is too early to begin potty training?

I have a 19-month old girl. She is my third child and I would love to get this thing down earlier than the last two (who were ready for 3-year old preschool!) Anyone want to help a much older, more exhausted mom out?

All great advice. Thanks for the reply, Sarah. My husband has taken some initiative with this already and I just need to bring it home! I have a feeling my little babe will surprise me!

Follow her lead. If she shows interest go with it, but allow her to lead u. My 3rd was the easiest because I realized to watch her cues instead of me deciding when. I also realized that she would get it when she was ready. Around 20 months or so she started sitting on the potty with clothes on when I would go potty. The around 25/ 26 months she started to wipe with clothes on. You could see her learning. Then she would sometimes sit with clothes off and go. We celebrated the times she went, but did not make a big deal if she didn't. You could tell she was learning and figuring it out. Around 29 months she started learning her body......she realized that when she tooted that might mean she needed to poop. So she would go try. Then a few months later she figured out peeing. I more just kind of sat back and watched and encouraged her along the he way. It has been the easiest and even enjoyable. I wish I would have had this insight with my older two. It would have been SO much easier!
