Also, ringworm is highly contagious. You may want to contact any pre-schools or day cares and let them know if your kid has it. Many times, it is a new pet (especially kittens) that bring it into the home. They tend to be carriers.

In most cases you can buy Lamisil (athlete's foot cream) and apply it to the area two or three times a day. This usually clears it up. However, if it the first time your child has had ringworm, or your child is under two, I'd call the doctor to be sure of the diagnosis and treatment.

Def go see the doctor to determine if it is ringworm at all.

Once you have a real diagnosis, tea tree oil works wonders. It is a natural anti-fungal and clears it up quickly.
