How long do you wait when your letting him scream it out?

How long of time should a parent start to give in when their 20 month old baby is staying up wayyyy to late???? (2am! almost 3am)



What do you do to break him of this?

WITHOUT BREAKIN HIS POOR LIL HEART :(

Nichole, if this is happening all the time, you need to look at his full daily sleep pattern. What time is he waking in the morning? How many sleeps is he having during the day, and for how long (and what times). All of these things can contribute to a baby staying up too late. Instead of just allowing him to cry it out, firstly examine your routines and see if perhaps these could be improved.

I know how you feel I still let my little man have a bottle than his dummy. It's only a comfort thing. I take the bottle straight away if he fall asleep. The do the same at the play group I take him to because many of the kids still want dummies so they can have them if they're resting but if they go and play they take them. I do this at home. I'm not sure otherwise. My son is a night owl.
