How long does it take to get over the death of your child

My parents never told me and my sis about our two younger siblings until we were much older. It was a painful time for them when they lost both of them. The last one was still born. I know for a fact there is no time frame for getting over the death of a child from this. Just recently, my mom and I talked about that very subject. By the end of that chat she was crying. She is nearly 70 and still gets sad over it. She learned to live without the other two babies she lost. She had me and my sister to worry about. I have never seen a stronger woman than my mom other than my grandmothers. I guess you never get over the death of any loved one in your life, but you do learn to remember them in the ways you loved best and recall the more memorable times you shared. It helps. Over time you begin to deal with it and go on. Remember the best of things of your loved one. Remember what it was about them that made you happy. That is my advice.

My parents lost their 10yr old,my sister. You never really get over it,but my parents have learned to cope with it,and time heals aswell. But every year,on bdays, the death day its hard for my parents.

I don't think you ever "get over" the death of your child, you learn to live life without them.
