I give my 17 month old barely a cup a day, but I've been told they can have 2 cups a day. I give him milk with breakfast and the rest of the day he has water and no juice at all! But he eats yogurt and cheeses and brocolli, and those are good sources of calcium. So my answer is 2 cups of milk/dairy.

our little man is just on 17mths and has a 125ml bottle at night, and 3 days a week (daycare) he also has a 100ml milk to help him fall asleep at naptime.

most things i have read say to give them about 16oz a day. Most people i read about give there 16 month 24oz. But personaly i just went with my instinct and gave both my kids how much i thought they should have weather that be over 16oz or could always emprovise with things like juice or water.

Your child does not need any milk in a day as they should be getting enough calcium from solid foods like cheese, yoghurt broccoli white fish and bread. If they are eatting enough dairy foods then there is no need to worry about the milk. It is always nice to see a youngster drink milk though so if they enjoy it let them have it.
