And I would NEVER use any type of 'cry it out' technique, especially for a baby this young. there are many reasons, not the least of which is that they wake for a reason, for food and security, and meeting a baby's emotional needs for security when they are young pays dividends later on. i have always met my daughter's needs for security, and now at 2 she is very loving, secure and bright. Sleeping habits WILL resolve themselves over time, just be patient and realise that your baby needs you - that's how it is supposed to be!

Sounds about right. I am BF'ing also, and my daughter is now 8 months. She sleeps through most nights...but when she was 2 months I think the longest she would go would be 5 hours. Otherwise BF every 1 1/2-2 1/2 hours. It is tough, but it won't last forever! You can do it!
when my son was 2 months old he would go to sleep about 9:00pm and then wake up at 12:00am to eat and stay up until 2:00am or 3:00am and then sleep until 6:00 or 7:00am. it's rough when they are up so much at night, but eventually it will get better

It totally depends on the baby, but my daughter has always woken frequently at night for both feeds and comfort. I have always co-slept with her (she is now aged 2 years), and so am able to just roll over and feed her back to sleep - works beautifully for us! It can be an excelletn way to get sleep (of course done safely) if you have a baby who is a natural frequent waker.
Small babies need to wake frequently for their own safety, and to ensure that you are still there protecting them!

My son is 11 weeks old and he still wakes every 2 to 2 1/2 hours to eat!! I see all these posts where the baby sleep much longer...are you all bottle or breastfeeding??
Hi Leah, Yeah my daughter is 8wks and she will have a 4 hr sleep but after that feed she will wake every 2 to 2/12 hrs again. Im breastfeeding. I wish she slept a bit longer, There seems to be a lot of lucky mums whos babies sleep threw.

I have 2 girls and just read that they really don't need to wake up in the middle of the night to eat. So for both girls every 2 hour like they said I would feed them. But really if she wakes up and seems hungry then feed her. Both my girls woke up and my youngest 2 years old still wakes up 2-4 times a night. I never get sleep because of it, I believe.

I have 6 children and they have all been different 2 slept through from birth and 2 didn't sleep at all and the other 2 were ok sleepers if you breast feed your baby will wake more often for a feed than if they are bottle fed.5 of mine were breast fed and did wake more often than the bottle fed baby my eldest is 13 and he still wakes up at night....

I am breastfeeding and when i go back to work he will have bottles during the day and bf at night...i figure since i am bf him at night that is why he is still waking every 2 to 2 1/2 hours...bcuz breastmilk is thinner than formula..

At 2 months old my daugther was sleeping right through the night nearly and would usually want a feed at around 10pm and not wake for another feed til around 4 - 5am.
But remember all babies are different some sleep better than others! Its really just go with the flow

when my son was 2 months he would sleep 4-5hrs before i would wake him to feed him....babies this age should still be night fed at least twice and once right before you go to bed..some babies are too weak to wake and ask for milk so you must wake up for them....in saying this everyone has diff ideas about babies sleeping thru so just go woth yours and your babies instincts.

when my son was 2 months old he'd b awake from 6 or 7pm till sumwhere between 10 and 12 and then go to sleep until 2 or 3 and hv another feed and then sleep til 5or 6 and hv another feed then sleep till 10 or 11, at that age his feeding times progressivly changed to more feeds in the day and more predicatable 1s at night, but all babies are different and my theory is just feed them when they want it

I have three children all mine slept through the night at around 6wks we let them cry for ten minutes at a time and then calmed them down and they slept through, it took a few days to work but it was great! But all babies are different some nights are better than others so I don't think there is set hours for a 2month to sleep. So find out what works for you and the baby. Hope it helps.
