Our eldest, 20mths, has one nap, about half an hour after lunch. On daycare days it lasts only 1/1.5hrs, but at home it's 2.5-3hrs.
As for our youngest....well he's 10wks old, so daytime sleeps are whenever he wants them hahaha

My son is 4 1/2 months and it greatly varies from day to day. Two to Seven naps. Generally 1-2 1/2 hours at a time, but ranging from 5minutes to 5 hours. Somedays he only catnaps. A few days he only stays awake long enough to nurse and play for a half hour. Sometimes he will fall asleep on his own. Sometimes he needs to be rocked, patted and sang to simultaneously.
There is no normal for him and when it looks like he's starting to get a routine it's just a fluke.

It depends on the day. My Daughter is 7 months old and can take a 30 minute to 1.5 hour nap in the morning, then another nap in the afternoon anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours, the other day she only had one 3 hour nap in the middle of the day, today she woke at 6am (pretty unheard of, she normally wakes between 7 and 8), so she went back to bed at 7:30am had a 2 hour nap, then went down again at 1pm (finally!) and is still asleep and it's 2:50pm.
So I guess an avg of 2 naps a day here, sometimes only 1 and sometime 3.
ohhh we're awake yay!
