You should have waited to start baby food or pureed foods until 6 months of age. Breast milk or formula should still be their primary nutrition until they are 1 year old. Giving baby food at this stage is only to get the child used to different flavors and textures.

Technically it is not smart to give anything other than breast milk or formula under 6 months of age... Twice a day is way too much until your baby is several months older than he/she is right now. Breastfeed on demand and cut down the solids to MAYBE once a day (if not less). Breast milk has all the nutrition a child needs under a year. Solids are just meant to compliment that and teach them about different tastes and how to eat.
