How much cereal?

My daughter just started on oatmeal cereal in the bottle to help with her reflux. I'm still uncertain as to how many times a day I should add cereal when I don't breastfeed her. Right now, I do 2x a day. Should I do more, less?

Also, what is the ratio of cereal and milk when spoon feeding?

Well, you can try the cereal being spoon fed (which is safer than in the bottle) mixed up a little more watery than the directions on the box. If she thrusts it out of her mouth with her tongue (called the tongue-thrust reflex ["duh" moment there for ya ;) ]) it means she's not ready for spoon feeding yet.

Can she sit up semi-supported or on her own?

It was recommended by her ped and she's doing so much better since we started it. She's 4 mos. I want to start with the spoon feeding. At least to try it.

Generally speaking, cereal in the bottle is not recommended.

How old is your daughter? Has your pediatrician/GI specialist recommended cereal for reflux?
