How much food and formula for a 6 month old at each feeding?

Hi! I have a 16 pound 6 month old....I was just wondering how much formula and food some of the moms feed their 6 month olds. Our baby doesn't really let you know when she has had enough or not....she'll drink a bit and then not want it and then want it five minutes later and can continue this cycle for two hours. I don't want to overfeed her and I don't want to underfeed and now with bringing food into the picture...well it just makes it more confusing. So , just trying to see what on average you feed your baby in ounces....thanks so much : )

I have a 6 month old as well and his pediatrician told me that he should be getting 30oz for formula per day. I know he doesn't drink that much. He eats about every 3 hours and gets anywhere from 2 to 4oz of formula per feeding. He eats what he wants. I do also give him solids twice a day. The ped told me that the formula is the most important for the first year. He said I don't have to give him solids every day if I don't want to.

At this age food isn't for nutrition, it's to get used to different textures and flavours.

A couple of teaspoons of solid food is plenty and for the formula, follow the instructions on the tin.
