My son's bday is this week as well as another family member. We're having a joint party on Saturday, there will be 23 people, (13 adults, 3 teens, 7 kids from the ages of 1-7). Anyway, I'm in charge of buying food and me & the other mom are splitting the costs. I've done many parties before but I always seem to run out of food. We're having it at 3pm to avoid cranky babies who miss their naps ;) We're basically wanting to do platters, veggies, fruit, cheese and crackers and maybe some meat. How much food should I get so we don't run out?
*EDIT* I normally buy the ready made platters from our grocery store. We normally get 1 fruit and 1 veggie platter. I'll buy 2 bricks of cheese and a couple boxes of crackers. Last year I bought a ring of garlic sausage and a few bags of chips. I don't really want a bunch of left overs, mind you it is all healthy stuff so it doesnt really matter.
How do you moms out there buy for "simple" parties like this?
