i just quit breastfeeding becasue i was having to supplement formula with my breastmilk bc he got jaundice really bad and my dr said it was best that i supplement with my breast milk. Turns out tha i wasnt producing much milk....also my LO was getting totally used to the formula he refused to latch on and was hectic when he finally did. So i have decided to use formula. Im wondering how much does he need. My Pedi told me to use 30ml when i was supplementing and now im jus wondering how much he should be gettting. I jus fed him not long ago and he still acts like his is hungry.

Usually there is a dosage chart on the side of the formula bottle. It really depends on your babies age and the needs. Like a 3 month old, preparing 6 oz and then only taking 4 is normal. Also, it depends on whether or not they are having a growth spurt. They will often eat more, and frequently. Typically a formula fed babe will go between 2-4 hours between feedings, but you might find that a babe going through a growth spurt is 1-3 hours.
