Babies have their own built in system that tells them when they are full, so as long as he wants it feed him it. alternatively however, if he doesn't finish a bottle and doesn't seem to want it - don't force the rest of the bottle on him. If you make him finish a bottle he doesn't want it will mess up the internal system they have that says when they are full

It is ok to feed more than 2 ozs as long as he is burping for you and doesnt get a stomach ache... and believe me you will know if he gets a tummy ache. I wouldnt allow more than 4ozs in a setting but 3 to 4 if fine... MIne are grown and they ate that way and no problems...

babies will eat as much as you give them so i would suggested burping him after 2 oz and then seeing if he still wants more...maybe just 2 oz at a time...my lactation consultant also showed me a technique where while you are feeding him let him take a few suckles of formula and then, while he is still attached to the nipple, tilt him upright and let him suckle on the bottle without receiving formula, sometimes it's just the comfort of sucking and not necessarily hunger... i didn't want to try this at first because i thought that my lil' guy was only sucking air but as long as the baby is still attached to the nipple its perfectly fine to let him suck without "reward".....this is what i did so maybe it'll help you! =)
