How Much to Spend on Teacher Gifts for Holidays

Just wondering what moms are thinking about giving holiday gifts to the teachers who teach their kids. I know many classes collect money and buy a group gift card, but that feels so impersonal and generic. I also have heard that many teachers use those gift cards to buy things for other people, not themselves. I'd love to know what other moms think. I want to give something that tells the teachers they're doing an amazing job. Also what do you typically spend for this kind of gift? I was thinking about $30. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

I don't generally do gifts. The teachers already get a lot of things from the other kids and parents and I don't want to add to their clutter. A card from the child and supplies from the class wish list are usually more useful and definitely appreciated.

How about letting your child make the teacher something. That way it's personal and actually from the child, not something bought by you on your child's behalf.
They can decorate a coffee mug or a plain photo frame. That will be a lot less than $30 and from the heart.
