How not to sleep with Toddler at night?

Hi All,
I have a 15 month old son, who still swings to sleep, than on a adult bed by himself. (He never liked the crib, he tosses/tubbles a lot in his sleep, so sleeps on a queen bed). So he usually wakes up around 2:30 or 5:00am and just sits up waiting for me to come sleep with him, and falls a sleep right away as soon as I come next to him.

How can I get out of this situation? I mean he goes to sleep around 9pm wakes up 7:30, but wakes up once at night where I need to go sleep next to him. I have tried the 15min period of avoiding and letting him cry it out, but doesn't work, he just gets louder.

Well he is 15 months, so why not try to get his a toddler bed and spruce it up in a way he'll like it and put it right next to your bed so he knows you're there but in his own space. Once he's a bit more used to sleeping on his own pull his bed away from yours and possibly across the room.
