How many times a day do you eat cereal? It's basically empty calories anyway, many people just skip cereal altogether and stick mainly to vegetables and fruit. At six months solid food is for practice only, so a small amount after the breakfast bottle/nursing session should suffice.

Never. Cereal is a waste. If you ARE going to do cereal anyway.... a small bit once a day at the most.

At 6 months they should just be getting a taste of anything once a day or less since breast milk or formula is where they get all their calories and nutrients.

I give my daughter about 1/8 of a cup of oatmeal cereal or rice cereal with her fruits and veggies every time I feed her solid foods. She likes it mixed in. She is only 5 1/2 months, and eats about 3 times a day, with 4 oz bottles every 4 hours. But every baby is different. If your baby wants to eat, let him/her, if not, don't force them.

I always fed it once a day at night time. I do it at night time to make sure they feel nice and full and sleep really well. Please do it on a spoon also. It is practicing to use a spoon and swallow something thicker than milk.
