How often does your child/children clean their rooms?

Do you require your child/children to clean their room every day? Is it okay for the room to be messy for a few days and clean it once a week or something? I am trying to figure out if I am being too obsessive?

I make my children clean their rooms when I can no longer walk safely to their beds. My parents allowed me to have my room whatever way I wanted because it was mine, since I didnt turn out to be a slob I am doing the same rules as they had for me.

*Edit* - These rules apply to the preteen and teenager. The 3 year old picks up her toys daily, because I dont wanna step on a toy putting her to bed.

My boys pick up their toys in their rooms every night before bed. Since we no longer have a spare bedroom to be a playroom, toys being put away is the only way they'll go to sleep. While they had a playroom, it was lucky if the toys got picked up every month! You need to do what fits you and your family's interests the best.

My girls clean their room at random. Sometimes it's great for a long time. Sometimes it gets out of control. Sometimes I hassle them about it and they put it off and put it off, but when they actually WORK at it.... it's done w/in an hour or two. For the most part it doesn't bother me either way cuz I don't usually go in there. If I DO need to go in there... that's when I get back on them to clean it up again. ;)

Yes it is okay for a day or two to be messy. I usually get on them 1 or 2 days a week. If not it just gets too overwhelming and out of control.
