How often should a 4 year old urinate?

This may sound like a silly question but does anyone have any idea what normal urination is for a 4 year old girl? My daughter is 4 and she only goes pee 3 or 4 times a day. She drinks about 45 ounces of liquid a day plus what she gets from food. It just seems to me like she should have to go more than that in a day. She isn't having any trouble or complaining of pain and if I ask her if she has to go she will tell me "my body isn't telling me to".

No kidding Chana!! I can barely ever go an hour w/out peeing... that's why I asked my son's doctor when he was little cuz it was totally foreign territory to me. I thought something HAD to be wrong. lol

Thanks she is fine never complains about pain or anything with going to the bathroom. She is never as shown any signs of dehydration it just seems odd to me. I guess I just wish I had her bladder control. LOL

As long as she gets adequate fluids and when she goes she feels like she empties her bladder without difficulty, she is fine.

I don't know about a 4 year old girl, but my son has always had awesome bladder control. Even at 3 years old he would frequently only pee every 4+ hours. He probably pees 3-6 times/day depending on the day. If she's not having any trouble I would say it's probably fine. I know I asked my son's doctor about it when he was little because it was a new experience for me and the doc said it was fine.

Well I think as a child eat or drink, the potential to pee or go to the toilet cannot be measure as such. That's my feeling anyway.
