Haha well let me specify...going out is like going out without anyone. No kids...no hubs.....just some friends and the local bar...which is actually a barn.

There is no right answer. How often she wants as long as her kids are taken care. For some the answer would be never, for others every day. It simply depends on what is right for each individual mom.

Eevry mom is different, but we need more information. Do you have a newborn or an older child? Did you mean you want to go out with the girls- no hubby/partner? Or go out with your hubby/partner? Do you have a reliable, trustworthy babysitter? Did you plan on going out in the daytime or in the evening? Were you plannin g on going out for 2-3 hours, or more like 6-7 hours?
See how every mom is different? As for me, I go out whenever I feel like it. I am no longer the bar hopping partier- WAY past that part of my life and I didn't have kids then. But if I want time to myself or with my friends, I simply inform my husband. And same with him. That's mutual respect in parenting. Good luck to you!

I try to plan dinner with friends at least once a month. Some of them live an hour away do I'm usually gone for a few hours. However I usually ask my husband along because my friends are bringing their significant others, he usually says no but sometimes surprises me with a yes. If I'm going to my friends houses to hang out I usually bring the kids along.

i go out with friends every few weeks if i fell the need and have a family member to babysit. this is usually out for drinks, dinner, movies or whatever we feel like. i seem to go through stages where i wont go out much at all and then i may go out every other weekend for a few weeks. also, i go out every once and a while with my partner, just us two as a break and some time to spend with just us. sometimes you just need a bit of break. time without keeping an eye on the little one that they aren't touching or doing something they shouldn't or eating dinner without having to feed bubs as well.

and my idea of going out is usually with my kids and/or hubby in tow. I only ever leave them maybe once or twice a year and right now with an exclusively breastfed newborn it won't be anytime soon without kids.

I agree with Sherri. I go out twice a month sometimes more if my parents take the kids on a weekend. Usually they take them during the week though so I have get togethers at the house.
