My daughter has been coming home lately saying she does not have to pee at school but once or sometimes never at all. She drinks water but not as often as she used to. This has been going on for about 3 weeks.

As often as she needs to.... Does she pee before and after school? Some kids can go all day (12 hours) w/ only peeing 3, maybe 4 times.

When my 3 year old was sick and refusing to drink I was worried about dehydration. The nurse said as long as she was peeing about every 6-8 hours she'd be fine.

Talk to your doctor if you are concerned, but as long as she IS peeing a few times a day and not in any pain... I'd think she's fine.

What goes in is generally the same ammount that goes out unless you are very active that day and sweating. However the best gage is if when she pees if the color is yellow or stronger in odor she is dehydrated. If you are getting enough fluids during the day your urine is clearer/cleaner.

I agree, I used to go pee before school and hold it all day (the teachers made you fill out passes in an agenda in order to leave the classroom) and I would get home at 4p and go again and a few more times once I was home. As long as she is peeing a few times and not in any sort of pain, then she should be fine. But if you're still concerned, talk to her doctor.
