How old should my son be before I try to let him sleep in his own room in his crib?

My son is going to be 2 months old on the 9th of September. We have been having him sleep in his cradle swing in our room every night sense he was born. I was just wondering if he is at an ok age to start trying to let him sleep in his own room in his crib? What do you think?

I never had my daughter in the same room with us, she always slept in her room in her crib from day 1.

Babies who sleep in the same room as their parent/s for the first year are at a lower risk of SIDS. However, its entirely up to you when you want to switch him. I put my first in her own room at a year but didn't hesitate to letting her come in and sleep in my bed after that. My second still co-sleeps.

I switched the twins to their bedroom when they were 3-4 month old. I kept them in the room with us because it was easier for me with the night feeding. When they started sleeping longer, I put them in their room.
