I am 35 weeks and have been having a lot of what I believe are the early signs of labor. I was just wondering how soon you knew things were starting before you went into full labor.

The contraction you are feeling could be Braxton Hicks. If they are just uncomfortable and not stopping you in your tracks then they are BH. They are good because they are getting your body ready. You still have a few weeks to go so I wouldn't stress just yet.

When you go into labor you will know. The contractions will be a lot stronger than the BH and will be regular. They also won't stop when you lie down or have a bath.

I never did lose my mucous plug with either of mine (that I saw anyway). It's different with everyone but if you're contractions ease up (particularly with a warm bath) then you still have some time. Once they get closer together and don't ease up it's time. Do you know what you are having?

I have been having some contractions but nothing to strong or close together. I also believe I have lost my mucus plug and I'm just having a lot of pelvic pain and pressure.

With my first child I went in for a weekly checkup and was dilated to 6cm...my OBGYN sent me to the hospital and was so confused that I had not been feeling anything yet. With the second my contractions got to where they were 2-3 minutes apart and nothing relieved them. I tried laying in a tub, walking around, nothing helped. Went to the hospital and I was dilated to 7. Are you having contractions?
