When they start solids they can have very small amounts, so.... around 6 months for most babies.

Breast milk or formula is all they need before starting solids and other fluids CAN be extremely dangerous to a baby's system.

When you start solids around 4 months, they can have about 2 ounces of water. Ask the pediatrician about water, most say to keep offering breastmilk or formula.

There's no need to give them anything until you start solids- around 6 months. Breastmilk or formula provides all the liquid they need.
