How to ask your baby's dad to help financially

Hey beautiful people. Myself and the father of my baby broke up about 2 months ago because we weren't making eachother happy and although I'm heartbroken and he's moved on we're both committed to our baby. However I'm starting to find it difficult to buy all the things you need for a new baby. We are on ohk terms and he says he wants to be here for our daughter so I'm wanting to know how to ask him for financial help? We're both 23 and working and agreed that when she was born he would pay me private child support so Is it too much to ask him to buy her small things she needs before she's born and how do I ask? Thanks in advance 😊

I know it's easier to keep things out of court and try to do things just between you but in reality, you should get things established legally. Even if it's an agreement written up by lawyers.
Since your child isn't even born yet, he doesn't have to be paying you anything.
Just a side note though, if you can't afford to get things for your child before it's arrived, how do you expect to support it for the next 18+ years? They don't get any cheaper as they get older.
