I feel like I take 2 steps forward and 3 steps back with my child. I do love her but I am finding it hard to have a strong bond.

Give it time. You are not going to bond overnight. It is going to take time. She is 2 yrs old, so unlike a newborn she does need you for every need. She is able to feed herself, dress herself, etc. These are all things that help bonding. She is also 2 yrs old and I am sure acts like most 2 yr is not always easy to bond with someone that can be defiant at times. Give yourselves time to learn who each other are. If she still takes a bottle keep with that for awhile. If she likes to be rocked take advantage of that. If she allows you to do massage on her......there are books you can find on infant massage. A GREAT book to read is The Connected Child by Karyn HIGHLY recommend reading this book.
