We have just found out that our 16 yr old has stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma. I am having trouble dealing with this and of course my son is too. I have no idea of what to say to him when he asks..

Julie, I have no idea what you may be going through with a child with this type of cancer. However, if it is any consolation to you, my father was diagnosed at Stage 2 at the age of 43, and following some fairly intense treatment for 12 months, he has now had the all-clear for 24 years. The survival rate at Stage 2 is very high, so keep a positive attitude, help him make healthy choices in his diet, find a counsellor he can relate to in order to help him through what is to come, and be there for him. It won't be easy for him, but he is young and resilient, I am sure he can fight this.

Best wishes to you all.

Thank you so much. It is so hard to see him cry and ask why me and I want to cry so bad.
