how to deal with dirty looks

my daughter has blue eyes,i wasnt expecting her to have blue eyes but i wasnt surprised by it. i have hazel and my bf has brown, blue eyes runs heavy on my moms side and my bf grandma has blue eyes. every time someone comments on my daughters blue eyes they always ask if either one of us has blue eyes,when i say neither of us do they ALWAYS give me a dirty look,until i tell them my mother has blue eyes.i know this is petty but its starting to get under my skin,what can i do so that it doesnt bother me,or is there something i can say so they dont give dirty looks

I agree with the others. I especially like Jodi's response regarding paying more attention in biology.
Or you can just make a joke and say that your husband doesn't have blue eyes but the milkman does, and then walk away.

Also, your daughter is only young, her eye colour may change. My son had blue eyes when he was born, but when he was around 6 or 7 years old, they started to darken and now are hazel. Go figure.

Clearly the people who take issue with it have zero education, because genetically, this is a perfectly possible combination - a 25% chance in fact. Just tell them their scientific knowledge is clearly lacking and perhaps they should have paid more attention in biology class at school.
