how to entertain a 10 month old

I'm a nurse so I'm with my daughter all day most days. As a first time mom I have no clue how to keep her entertained all day long. She has a bunch of toys that rattle and that light up/make noise but she has defenitely lost interest in those. She is crawling and pulling up on furniture now so when she's not busy exploring she is attached to my hip. She is in a very clingy stage right now and has no interest in independent play. Any advice on what types of activities and toys I can get for my daughter now that she's getting older would be much appreciated. Thank you!

10 months is the right age for exploring and clinging to mom. Your daughter is right on track! :-)

Some other activities to try though:

- playing in the tub.
- going for walks.
- jolly jumper (physiotherapists hate them, but our kids were big fans, don't get a fancy model with a frame or with toys, just the basic one that hangs in the door).
- singing and dancing to music
- looking at books together and encouraging her to point to objects.
- setting up things for her to explore (tunnels, sofa cushions on the floor, etc).
- swings at the park.

You could also check the library for activity books. A lot of them are geared toward daycare providers, but they often have good ideas and are very easy to do with household objects.
