How to explain spina bifida to other children in kindergarten?

I think he sounds like he can explain it better than anyone else......just talk to them like you're talking to a 5 year old. It's painful, his legs don't work, his spine isn't together like everyone elses, and then you can let them ask questions.

My son is 6 years old and has spina bifida. He is "Star Student" of the week this week and the teacher would like spina bifida explained to the other children. The teacher would like me to talk to his classmates about it and I'm just not sure how to explain it on a 5-6 year old level. My son's response to other people (if any) is that his legs don't work because he has spina bifida, period. I don't want to give out the complicated description and I don't feel a full disclosure is needed either. Any suggestions?
