how to gain my baby weight

Are you nursing? Or formula? Sometimes that natural instinct to suck is not there, or they are unable to attach to the breast or to a bottle. Also, if you nurse, are YOU getting enough hydration? When my son was only a few weeks old, he was losing weight. When he was a little older, we noticed he had very little weight gain. We found that with me being anemic, I didn't have enough hydration, therefore, I could not provide enough nourishment for my son. My mother and I came up with a plan in order for him not to have to have tube feeding. We We bought binkies and would dip them into formula, or even those pacifiers used for medicine- we put formula in there for him. Slowly he was able to adapt, and soon became strong enough to use the bottle. I felt bad because i nursed all of my children but for his health, he so needed formula. I think we put him on Nutramigin. He finally started to thrive! Thank God, he's now seven years old and healthy.

Have they tried switching formula? My son didn't gain weight for the first 2 months of his life and was diagnosed with failure to thrive so they told me to give him Nutramigin (I tried breastfeeding first then had to switch to formula). After he started drinking Nutramigin he started gaining weight. I would talk to your babies doctor and ask if that is something you should maybe try
