5.3 what? I'm assuming kg here? That's 11 something pounds. A 'little' on the small side, but as long as she's continuing to grow and thrive and she's not dehydrated.... she's most likely fine.

Do you nurse on demand? How often does she typically eat? You can up the healthy fats in YOUR diet (avocados are great) and make sure that you are getting enough food, rest, and fluids to make sure that she is getting enough as well.

Make sure she is not wearing herself out when she is trying to eat. If breast feeding you can tell if she has a good latch on and if she has a strong suck. With a bottle you can't physical feel it so it takes some guess work there. If it takes her longer than 30 min. To drink a 3 oz bottle you need to discuss this with pediatrician. My 8 yr old suffered from the problem mentioned above. And she is still under weight for her height and age. My 3 yr old did better but now that she controls what she will and how much she eats she is a little under weight. If you have any suggestions for that feel free to weigh in... Thanks and Good Luck!!

That seems very small, unless she was a premature at birth? Baby rice cereal might help her to gain some weight also.

As long as she is steadily gaining weight she should be fine. Was she small at birth?
