my son is five months, he is getting up four to five times a night. I really need to figure out some ways to get him to sleep through the whole night.

I hate to burst your bubble about an all night sleeper with a five month old child. At this age its normal for them to be up and down that much at night for feedings especially if all they are getting at this point is formula or breast fed. Sleeping through the night comes with time and when he is ready to do so. A good stretch for this age is about 4 or 5 hours at best. At this age you can not dictate a schedule no matter what experts or even others will tell you. Your baby is unique to himself and that means until he gets to age one or older life is dictated to his needs. Give it time. Pushing a baby to do things they are not ready to do yet is not going to solve a problem but make it a lot bigger.
