How to get my 6 month old to sleep more?

Okay, my 6 month old has always been a great sleeper, much better then his brother was! Recently, however, he doesn't even fall asleep until midnight, sometimes even 1 AM! He still wakes up one or two times at night and then wakes up for the day between 8 and 9 on a typical day. He takes a short (30 minutes-1 hour) nap a couple hours after he wakes up, a longer nap in the middle of the day and then another shorter nap around dinner time. Is there anything I can do to get him to at least fall asleep earlier then midnight?! I do not let my kids sleep in bed with me so that's not an option. He has his 6 month well baby appointment next week so I'm definitely going to ask his pediatrician, but I'd like some advice from other mothers too!

my son was never a napper until about 5 months. it was only about a hour a day but not that he is 16 months he has a long afternoon nap 2-3 hours. id definetly cut back to one nap a day.

I would start cutting out that last nap. Just try and push it back 15 min a day and then even out the other 2 day naps.

Have you thought about cutting out the nap at dinnertime and trying to put bub in bed at 6 or 7? It will be hard at first as bub wont be use to staying up for that nap. Also be careful as to how stimulated bub is before bed as this can make it hard to fall asleep to.
