Hi, yes she does see her dad but she is not close with him. She doesn't like going over there but she knows she has to. We divorced a month after she was born. My husband and I have been together for since she was 4 months old. She was close to him at first esp when she was a baby. She started getting a little distance from him when she started talking. Come to find out the reason why is because her dad told her to. But when I conforted him he said she was lying. She doesn't do that with me though. She always wants to be by my side at all times. My mom thinks its because she is jealous of chad being able to see me all the time and she can't. I've tried to talk to her about it and she just says she doesn't know why she does it. It's getting to be were it's making me upset now.

Does she see her Bio Dad all? She could be doing it so she doesn't get too "attached" to him and have her heart broken again. How old was she when you split from her Dad?
There are a lot of reasons why kids do this. My oldest son did it around that age but he was trying to play my ex and myself against each other. Whenever I told him off he would say he hated me and that he wanted to go to Dad's. He would also do the same at Dad's house.
Even now my boys like my (current) Husband to pick them up from training because he will buy them a soft drink on the way home :-)
Have you sat down and talked with her? Not telling her off for the way she's treating him but just discussed her feelings. Sometimes with our lives getting busier we don't talk with our children and listen to them enough.

She is 6 yrs old. She will tell him not to talk to her if he tries or to leave her alone if he is trying to joke with her or do something with her. But if he picks her up frlm day care or school then she is nice to him...because he buys her an icee and candy.
