how to get my toddler to sleep through the night?

A toddler waking up once in the night isn't all that bad. Maybe your child is having a bad dream or teething. I know it kind of sounds strange that it is every night around the same time, but it is possible. If this is the case, soothing him or her should do the trick.

There have been many posts about this this week and the simple answer is to establish a routine that you stick to nightly no matter what. When they wake do not make a fuss just go in resettle and leave. Do not let them have a drink or take them to your bed, be quite firm and say it is sleep time now and leave. let them moan and go back in again and say sleep time now and leave. After that do not speak or give them eye contact just go in lye them down and leave. This is a control thing your child knows if they cry you will crack and take them to your bed. Time to regain control so stick to your guns. It is not an easy habbit to break so get plenty of rest when you can. Stay consistant and your child will soon learn that waking in the night is not fruitful and will eventually stop and you will at long last get some well earned sleep.
