How to handle a four year old who prefers staying at home rather than joining activities?

My 4 (to be this Dec) years-old daughter used to be very sociable. But recently she refuses to join her ballet class (was regularly going last year). We also tried a kinder musik class but again, no use. She is adamant that she doesnt want to join-in. On my side, I want her to socialise with kids of her age. We rarely have the chance to get with families with kids of her age. Therefore, for her to join a class during afternoons is the best case scenario as it gives her the (unique) chance to mingle with other kids. Dont know if I am over-reacting. I think I am a bit shocked cause so far she was so much into these sort of activities, to dance, play with other kids, drawing etc Dont understand while all of a sudden this changed...and dont know how to handle it. Any advice?pls...

Have you asked her if there an activity she would rather do ? Girls scouts , Karate , gymnastics ...anything?

I have always insisted my kids be involved in extra curricular type activities. Either they pick or I will. good luck !
