My 11yr old is afraid to go down the basement no matter what time of day it is. He loves Ghost Adventure/Hunters and shows along that line. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it or not but it has only been in the past 4-5 mths that he has become afraid. He's been watching these types of shows for a few years now. Any help would be great. Thanks

You could do a cleansing of the basement using a Sage stick while he is present. It IS possible he is picking up on a presence down there. I personally am of the belief that just because we can't see something it doesn't meant it doesn't exist/isn't there. Even if you don't believe in Spirit the Psychological benefits of him seeing you do that may help him to relax and lessen/erase his fear.

Here is a link to a step by step guide to cleansing a room, use it, don't use it, it's entirely up to you :)

Also talk to him, ask him why/what he's afraid of. Let him know that no matter how embarrassed he may be it's safe for him to tell you, you're not going to laugh at him or think he's being silly. If he won't tell you, make it clear your ear is ready when he is ready to talk to you.

he says he feels like someone is watching him. Even though he kows nobody is there he still feels like someone is in the basement and outside of the house looking in the windows. When we bought the house the lady that lived there died in the house when she took a nap at the age of 95/96. Thank you for the information I will look into it.
