How to help my four month old sleep through the night?

Can anyone offer any advice on how to get our DS to sleep though the night. He usually goes down at 8 pm and wakes around 3 then again at 6 am.I would really like to lose the 3 am feeding. He only takes 2 oz usually when he wakes so I wonder if he even needs it or if its turning into habit. He is our 4th and our other children were all sleeping through the night by 10 weeks.I hope I don't sound like a bad mom wanting to sleep all night but really I do want to!

Actually, he IS sleeping through the night. Sleeping 4-6 hours at 4 months old is considered sleeping through the night. My son is also 4 months old and I feel your pain. I would love it if he would sleep 8 hours straight but it's just not in the cards yet. :/

If he doesn't really need that 3am feeding...are you opposed to pacifiers? He may just want to suck on something. It's worth a shot. I can imagine that you are tired from not getting enough sleep and caring for four children.
