If your husband cannot read and write, then he can't homeschool. You are doing your child a disservice here in more ways that one,

If you do not have clothes to wear for school, talk to the local charities and churches for some assistance. You could even discuss it with your school (although I don't know what schools are like where you live - where I live, many public schools have wellbeing budgets where they can assist with supplying food, clothes, etc to families who are struggling financially). Please don't us tehis as a reason not to put your child into schooling.

First of all you need to resolve the home schooled issue. If dad cannot read or write, your son need to be educated outside the home. I work in a school district that has MANY families that live below the poverty line. Go to your local Good Will or Salvation Army and ask for clothing for the child. You should be able to get shoes, a coat and at least two full changes of clothing. Also, contact your local churches for donations.
Finally, if you are not already receiving federal or state aid, you need to apply. If your husband is disabled you should qualify for some help. What does your child wear at home? Our school district has a dress code, and for families in poverty we supply two full sets of clothes: two khaki pants, two polo shirts, one pair of dress shoe, one pair of sneakers, a gym uniform and three pairs of socks. You just need to ask
