How to keep consistent baby schedule

My son is almost 7 months old and I have been trying to keep a consistent schedule for him recently. He has always ate at pretty consistent times and now I am trying to help him nap on a schedule to make sure he is getting sleep he needs and so he has stability. The problem is, I am a pastor's wife so MY schedule isn't even consistent. It seems like we are always having to go here and there or always having extra miscellaneous services. It stresses me out that I can't help my son have consistency. Any suggestions??

That's hard. There are so many expectations on you, and you are probably used to bending around to please people and do things for them. But at some point you just need to decide that your son is important, too, and his schedule is giving him what he needs, so you're just going to stick to the schedule. Make it a priority. Sorry, everybody else!

Of course there are exceptions where other things will take priority and you have to mess up the schedule to fulfill your duties, but keep an eye on those exceptions so that the exceptions don't become more normal than the routine!

Maybe you could invite people over more, rather than going out to see them. That way your son could live his life and you could live yours, too. I hope you can find a good balance.
