how to keep my tween son from turning away from us

Hi, My darling son - 10 y o - is a joy and still all lovey dovey with us. I know it's 100% normal for him to pull away as he gets older, but I've observed some kids who stay very close and connected with their parents, even in the teen years. I'm wondering about parenting tips to promote a loving teen (instead of a morose one!) :)

My boys are 15 and 12.5 and are still close to me. I have made sure that we have open communication. We talk openly about things and they know that they can come to me with anything. When they do come to me with something I don't like, I make sure I don't go off the handle. I stay calm and we talk it through. That way they will comfortable coming to me in the future.
My 15yo said to me just the other week that he can talk to me about things that he can't talk to his Dad or friends about. That made me feel proud of our relationship. Both the boys still come up and hug me and tell me they love me.
