we went through something similar when our son was little and the best thing to do is get lots of bright bath toys and plastic containers so just play with him in the bath, tip the water into different containers and fill them up again and play with the toys ect eventually he will realise that bath time is fun again good luck :)

Did anything happen that could be frightening him? Did he fall in the tub, get water in his ears, or soap in his eyes?

My son is only 8 months but he went thru a faze too..I bought a blow up duck tub from target for $12 and I first let him play in it in the toy room first I filled it with toys and let him pull the toys out and play after a few days of him playing with it I then sat him in the duck and let him play in it. After a few day i moved it to the tub and let him play with no water i also gave him some special toys I bought just for the tub he was excited to see the new toys..then again two days later i filled it with a lil water and used the special toys that are now only for bath he didnt even seem to notice there was water and I was able to bathe him everynight I added a lil more water and he now looks forward to baths.

get in with him a few times - that's all it took when my son had that phase...we also tried the shower, he didn't like it at first because it would go in his eyes, but he's warming up to it a bit better now
