Thank you so much Jeannie. Will never call him lazy(though I have never told him that directly). That was what in my mind. But not again :) .

That sounds very true. He might not be ready to write.

Thank you very much.

And please don't tag him with terms like lazy. If you tell him that enough, it may very well be whom he thinks he is.

4 year olds are developing their large muscles, not their small muscles. They also must develope a hormone which enables their pupils to adjust to the written word. This happens about 5 and as you know boys often physically develope a little slower than girls. ( explains why girls do so much better than boys the first 4 years of school). He physically isn't geared to write. He is geared to run, jump, climb, etc. Do him a really big favor, don't start him in school until you have to. Early socialization is NOT good for children, it makes them peer dependent which is the number 1 cause of drug use in teens. And it is better to be the big fish in the pond, especially for a boy. I don't care what the school tells you, if he gets held back, it will affect him his whole life. I started school at 4. School was easy for me, but the pressure came in high school when I emotionally wasn't mature, and I made some decisions I probably wouldn't have were I a year or so older. If you want your son to love and excel in school, don't push him before he is ready. Help him blossom into it.
