How to potty train an almost 3 year old boy?

Ive tried everything and nothing is working. Ive heard that boys are harder than girls to potty train. Maybe he's still not ready. What are signs to know he's ready? I don't want to pressure him into it. I have some people though that are giving me slack about him not being potty trained yet. I don't lnow what to do :(

Every child is different. If it's not working... he's not ready. Even if he may be physically ready, he may just not be emotionally ready... or he's turned it into a battle of wills... which it SHOULDN'T be cuz they are his bodily functions to control and no one else's.

If he's truly ready... there will be no battle or stress involved. Still possibly some accidents, but they shouldn't be frequently.

Not potty training my son was the smartest and most effective 'parenting' I've ever done. ;) Make sure he's aware of what to do and where to do it.... Then let him take control over whether or not it happens. You can buy him cool underwear (which my son had NO desire to wear) in his favorite characters, do sticker charts, etc.... but if he's not ready or he's not willing.... just wait him out.

Every child is different. Don't listen to the people giving you a hard time. THey don't know what they are talking about. Sometimes I think potty training has turned into a kind of lawn ornament for the parents. "My child trained sooner than yours" kind of thing, couched in the most politest of ways, of course. Stay calm even when it gets gross, and remind yourself that very few children attend kindergarten in daipers.
