hi, im a single mum, i have a 7year old girl and a 15 month old son. my daughter was potty trained by the time she was 16 months, well she wouldnt do a number 2 till she was nearly 2yrs after an incident (i sorta dropped her in the loo oops) i actually found it pretty easy as she generally watched and copied how mummy did it..
now my lil man is constantly taking his nappy off etc i think its high time he was trained, but my problem is i dont have the same equipment as him to say 'here son this is what to do' and no male influence/role model to help, im sure many off u single mummys out there have been through this too and was wondering/ hoping you could pass on some of your tips or maybe even some pixie dust and a magic wand ..... lol
many thanks leah xx

thank u. im just worried that making him sit will make him different to other boys when he eventually starts school. and as for training them early... i rather teach them to use the potty young when they start stripping from their nappies then having my carpet/ furniture peed on lol :D

It's the same as teaching a girl except you teach him to point his penis down when he's sitting. Though I wouldn't actively potty train any child at 15 months. My oldest was introduced to potty training around that age, but wasn't day trained until a few months short of turning 3.

My son potty trained himself and was fully day and night trained at the exact same age.
